I Want To Be The Mitochondrion

[love for the work of David Ho]

Though outdated now, I'm tired of hearing that I'm not blogging - so, here's one of my many little private letters of links...

"Severing proteins induce kinks in the filament and lead to the formation of short fragments that rapidly de-polymerize or give rise to new filaments."
--Biovisions @ Harvard video

A fabulous video about the inner life of a cell, more like a social study in my little world. (from ZF, of course)

Basically, my words no longer serve to convey proper emotions. I'm not sure if that means things are ending, or just becoming endless?

I am prone to loving in excess - though not often is it that I wish to conume&devour. I think that behavior leads to [un]necessary reductions I am not so eager to partake in.

I spend my days roaming streets, surrounded by an eternal stream of commotion, but always left -- sitting: solitary, enslaved by nothing but my own volumes of illogical rules. Always in need of protection, but never really knowing from whom.

Counting the days until July, when I may see my Spiderman Spydercam, escape the grime, and inhale something pure.

Miss Catalina has been blowing my mind. She consistently makes me feel as though I need to be more productive, less skeptical. Always taking her work to some NEXX level shit! As does my homegirl Summer - with her paintings that often make me write desperate responses late in the night:

Out of hiding- a sweetly scented sleep.
Sinking in skewed and sour stories
Successively searching supplementary treasures
...Buried in a stagnant symphony...

And if that's not enough, there are always other's [post] secrets to juice off of.
[I may never have to use my own words again.]

It's time for me to get the fuck up, put on some lotion [even though I never made it to the beach] an have a likkle downtown brooklyn backyard BBQ...

Someday I will read to you Hans Christian Andersen, 'til then, here is a very cool little Fair[y] Use Tale.

Forgive me, but I always want to show you thiiiiinnngs.

Madison Square Park, NYC: Roxie Paine

"If you want a red rose," said the Tree, "you must build it out of music by moonlight, and stain it with your own heart's-blood. You must sing to me with your breast against a thorn. All night long you must sing to me, and the thorn must pierce your heart, and your life-blood must flow into my veins, and become mine."
The Nightingale and the Rose, Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)

SIX days, yes s-i-x days sitting in my little box in Brooklyn with the PLAGUE. Having lost any sense of the reality I normally blue-knuckle-clutch to so dearly, I found myself living on random bits of freezer burned shrimp and the instant-boxed-foods that have sat in the refrigerator unloved for months, while devouring nine books and nostalgically rifling through six very large drawers of old photos. I didn't open the front door, I didn't answer the phone, and I never slept more than a few hours - despite having slugged multiple bottles of Nyquil on a daily [last resort] basis.

I find it relatively terrifying that I am completely content to hole up in my house for weeks at a time with absolutely no social interaction, and even worse, I have now fallen in LOVE with the concept.

I've successfully set up my living arrangements so that everything I need may be contained in this miniscule space [sewing machine, cameras, bags full of blank postcards from places I've never been, paint, gluesticks, book press, inkless printers] and with technology as it is today - I may have everything missing delivered to my home – even Fresh Direct's expired food comes to my shit neighborhood - finally! No more space-invading, heavily scented, anxiety inducing train rides at rush hour, no more nettlesome guys singing their solicitous soliloquies at the bodega, and if I seal up my windows, I can barely hear the incessant hammering of fire trucks, police cars, custom dolla van horns, assholes fighting, or that rancid man that parks&plays the entire Anthony B album each mawnin at 6 am directly below. Now, if only I didn’t have that grave obsession with the 20” bike frame and the love for the boys who ride them brakeless…

I'm feeling the loss of ZF these days, so I now spend my time sentimentally lurking through his archives...and on that note, this one is for you my dearest pen-pal Dan: forgive that last [blunderingly insane, under-socialized, late night] letter – I’ve been on a bit of a binge lately... ehem...Hindsight [it's 20/20]

Many bottles of wine, some major Solipsistic love, a bit of hardware, a $2 screwdriver,
and I have what you, Mr. Mac Genius / Tekserve guy, told me could *never* happen:
My baby is back, no thanks to you - and all the more powerful.

Art Basel: Part II, Random Slideshow Of Things That Pleased Me

Still in recovery from a 4 day weekend without any sleep...
Summer had a great show, sold a lot of work, and despite having to be "present" at her spot, we still managed to find the time to make it out to Aqua (ahhh: a giant Faile & bikini babes in jacuzzi), Nada (flyest girl in Rio), Pulse (Radcliffe, in spirit), Scope, Pool and a few others. It was a whirlwind of art forum-y highbrows, uber-fabulous black bookers, culture hustlers, elbowy bitches at the VIP ropes, Mark Ryden "inspired" artists, skulls, and a million of our NYC friends. Over-stimulated, under-fed (it took us a minute to figure out how to get an edible dinner) and still-without-tan, we now have a master plan for next year which will surely include extended days of penthouse views on the other side of the tracks...
Thank you to my very dearest Vane for sharing such a FABULOUS FUCKING weekend with me!!
All Love,
sQ
